If it involves sound, I’ve probably done it at one point or another.
Played guitar since age 5, composer/songwriter since age 15, and audio engineer/producer for the last 30+ years. An education in music composition, touring and performing, and many hours sitting behind the desk both in studio and out on the road has provided a wealth of experience for me to pull from. Live recording, live sound, sound effects capture, sound design, in studio recording of every music style on the planet, toys, games, TV, film, wiring, system installs, computer/data management, electronics repair . . . you name it, it’s crossed my doorstep and I’ve learned all I can about the situation. I am known for my trouble shooting and fix it right abilities. Fifteen years ago I did the very thing I said I would never do: build, manage and run a recording studio. And it’s been a fantastic 15 years. |

I educate students who wish to learn audio at one of the best colleges in the Bay Area: Broadcast Electronic Media Arts Department (BEMA) at City College of San Francisco (CCSF). Leading up to my tenure there (2001 – present), I toured the U.S. and Europe several times in the 1990’s as FOH for various up-and-coming artists on labels; staff engineer at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco since their inception in 1991; owned and operated a live sound production company (dcj Productions from 1987 – 2012) largely catering to the non-profit sector who always need affordable event services; and co-owned and operated a record label and recording studio, APG Records/Studios (1998 – 2003) which then transitioned to Potrero Post in 2002. I have experienced a long and wonderful career doing what I love and would be honored to serve our community. |
