DESCRIPTION:The San Francisco Audio Engineering Society section is partnering with Music Expo SF\, in the annual conference for music makers\, returning to Ex’pression College\, Emeryville on Saturday\, 11th November 2017. We’ll be sponsoring a number of the presentations. \nMusic Expo SF is open to anyone interested in the art of music making; professional and semi-professional musicians\, songwriters\, music producers\, audio engineers and DJs as well as music students and educators. This year the event is offering more workshops\, master classes\, artist keynotes\, product demos and networking opportunities\, for one of the most comprehensive music and audio events in Northern California. \nWith approximately 40 sessions and 800 attendees from professionals to students as well as representatives from leading pro audio and music software manufacturers\, the opportunity for networking\, learning\, and collaborating is huge.

DESCRIPTION:AES-SF\, Genelec and Cutting Edge Audio Group are proud to present Dave Maclaughlin at 25th Street Recording on November 15\, 2017 for a special listening of The Ones event. This is your chance to hear Genelec’s new three-way coaxial Ultimate Point Source monitors; the 8331\, 8341\, and 8351 monitors in a world class studio environment.\n\n\n\n \nDoors will be open from 6pm – 9pm; refreshments will be served. \nFree street parking\, or take BART to the “19th Street Oakland” stop. As such\, he travels the nation delivering guest lectures on speaker technology and acoustics. \nPrior to joining Genelec Dave served as the Vice President of Sales for Parsons Audio. He opened a new office for Parsons from his home base in Florida to serve a diverse client base from the keys to Orlando as well as a range of education-based customers coast to coast. For the prior 24 years\, David Maclaughlin served as the Executive Director of Audio Engineering at Husson College’s New England School of Communications in Bangor\, Maine. While at Nescom he built a small audio program into the school’s largest academic program. Along the way he created one of the first Bachelor Degree programs in Live Sound to complement the Studio Recording and Post Production Programs. He is a full member of the Audio Engineering Society\, and a member of SBE and has produced and engineered numerous commercial recording projects for well-known artists\, in the U.S. and Canada. Recently he directed the founding of the first Southern Florida chapter of the AES. Dave currently serves on advisory committees for 4 college based audio programs and delights in helping students advance their career. \nDavid’s studio designs and installations have been storied in major publications around the world. In addition to a deep background in the recording business David has a wealth of experience in broadcast\, first as an on-air talent and later in both management and station ownership as the principle of a broadcast property in New England. He brings an extensive background in sales and and vast base of knowledge about the audio business to his work for Genelec.
