DESCRIPTION:The San Francisco Audio Engineering Society is invited for a special visit in the famed Studio 610 at the Universal Audio campus\, where many of their famous\, world-class UAD audio products are born. This evening will include a discussion with UA’s Chief Scientist Dr David Berners. \nSchedule: \n7pm-7:30pm Reception\n7:30pm-9:00pm Tour and Presentation \nDr David Berners\nAt UA\, Dr. Berners leads research and development efforts in audio effects processing\, including dynamic range compression\, equalization\, distortion and delay effects\, and specializing in modeling of vintage analog equipment.  He is also a visiting scholar at CCRMA at Stanford University\, where he teaches a graduate class in audio effects processing. \nDr. Berners was previously with Aureal Semiconductor where he developed pitch shifting\, harmonizing and other audio signal processing algorithms\, and has held positions at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory\, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Allied Signal.  He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University\, M.S. from Caltech\, and his S.B. from MIT\, all in electrical engineering. \nLocation:\n4585 Scotts Valley Dr\nScotts Valley\, CA 95066 \n  \nSpace is limited.
