"Why a new format now?", "where is SACD coming from"? A discussion of the SACD concepts and technologies will be presented.

Andreas Koch has bee at Sony since 1993. He has worked in various positions in the design of products for areas ranging from very high end professional audio mixers and recorders to high volume equipment for the musician market. Has been running an international team of engineers to design mastering equipment for SACD for the last 2.5 years. He has held engineering management and design positions before at Studer in Switzerland and Menlo Park, and at Dolby in San Francisco. Andreas has a M.S. EE from Federal Institute of Technology in Switzerland.
