Challenges of recreating vintage units, and how their new compressors
and preamps compare to the vintage units from which they were modeled from.
How Universal Audio recreated digital versions of compressors and other vintage
analog gear
Dave Crane has been with Universal Audio since its inception over 5
years ago. He has been Product Specialist, Software Product Manager, and
is currently Training Manager. He has a BA in Music from San Jose State.
David P. Berners is Director of Algorithm Development at Universal
Audio and has been UA for nearly five years. He received his PhD in
electrical engineering from Stanford University .
Sean Lamb is the Materials manager and a Mechanical Engineer at UA.
Prior to his four years at UA, Sean worked on recreated Marantz stereos
from the 1950's and '60's.
Joe Bryan is the VP of Engineering and Technology for Universal
Audio. Prior to his four years at UA, he founded Hyperactive Audio
Systems, developers of the UAD-1 DSP card, and before that worked for Korg
R&D for 6 years.
