Description
Mr. McTigue will speak about the issues, solutions, and challenges associated with the modern digital audio mixer. Specifically focusing on the human interface. This presentation will include a historical perspective and an extensive discussion of ergonomics focusing on the impact of information on the human/machine continuum. In addition, examples of modern complexity will be presented along with some key issues in the Human Computer Interface and how EuCon can mitigate many of the human/machine complexity issues that have arisen in the early 21st century. Finally a brief discussion of some of future solutions will be presented.
About the Speaker
Jim McTigue joined Euphonix in 2000. He has worked extensively in the Acoustic, Broadcast, and Professional Audio fields. Starting at the legendary A & R Recording Studios in NYC, his career has progressed through engineering and management positions including Automated Processes, Inc. (API), Sigma Sound Studios, Broadcast Technology, Radix Systems, Altec Lansing and Telex Communication. McTigue holds a Bachelor of Science in System Engineering, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and has extensive post graduate study in Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Management, and Ergonomics. He is also a member of the Audio Engineering Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Institute of Industrial Engineers, National Academy of Recording Arts and Science (NARAS), Alpha Pi Mu and listed in Who's Who in Entertainment and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. In addition, he is a member the AES Technical Committees on Human Factors in Audio Systems and Studio Practices and Production. Currently he is Vice Chairman of the San Francisco AES chapter and a Governor of the San Francisco Chapter of NARAS.
