Description:

A rare opportunity to see this critically acclaimed, unreleased documentary film about the studio musicians behind hundreds of hit songs from the 60s and 70s, ranging from the Beach Boys to Frank Sinatra. No matter who's name went on the album, it was the same group of uncredited musicians who created an entire generation of music. The film includes interviews with Brian Wilson, Cher, Nancy Sinatra, Herb Alpert, Glen Campbell, Gary Lewis, as well as Crew members themselves.
The film was released into the festival circuit in 2008 and garnered a dozen awards in over 50 festivals around the world. A labor of love by director Tedesco, the film is also ultimately a love letter to the legacy of his late father and musician friends in the Crew. Documenting the work of musicians on such iconic songs, however, can be cost -- and distribution -- prohibitive. According to the American Federation of Musicians, the film may be one of the largest soundtracks of any film in history, with 131 music cues, including songs by Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, The Monkees, The Byrds, Mamas and Papas, Sonny and Cher, The Beach Boys and dozens of others.

Because of the large collection of songs in the film, paying off the music licensing has held up the commercial release. As part of the fundraising campaign, proceeds from this showing will go to the International Documentary Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit, for the Wrecking Crew film song licensing fees.

The New York Times recently did a story about the film:

This film has not yet had a commercial release and is not available on DVD. These are the only showings scheduled in Northern California. It has been selling out multiple shows in other parts of the country, so we recommend purchasing tickets early for these exclusive Bay Area showings.
