Description:

Audio Video Bridging (AVB) is an emerging technology developed by the IEEE as part of the evolution of standard Ethernet. By taking the problem of connectivity from the hardware domain to the software domain, and by exploiting the benefits of mainstream IT technology, AVB is certain to impact the media equipment industry in many ways over the next decade. This presentation will cover the basics of AVB technology, the various standards in the AVB family, and the mission of the AVnu Alliance to provide logo certification for AVB devices.

About the Speakers:

Rob Silfvast is the lead architect for all of Avid's audio hardware programs. With nearly 30 years in the industry, Rob has designed many notable products, including the Digi 002 and 002-Rack as well as the Universal Audio "DCS Remote Preamp", and was the primary architect of the audio signal path for the Euphonix CS series and System 5 consoles.

From Highway 101 North
Driving from the North Bay, take 101 South to the Highway 237/ Alviso Rd. exit. Stay right on 237 and take the Mathilda Avenue exit. There are three lanes that turn left. Using the lane furthest to the right, turn LEFT onto Mathilda, drive under the overpass and make an IMMEDIATE RIGHT turn onto Moffet Park Drive. Take the FIRST LEFT turn onto Bordeaux Drive. (You cannot turn North onto Mathilda directly from 101, so if you miss the 237 exit, turn South onto Mathilda and take the first available U turn. Then continue back up Mathilda to Moffet Park Drive East.)
 
From Highway 101 South
Driving from the South Bay, take 101 North to the Mathilda Avenue NORTH exit. Drive under 237 overpass and make an IMMEDIATE RIGHT turn onto Moffet Park Drive. Take the FIRST LEFT onto Bordeaux Drive.
 
From Highway 280
Take Highway 85 North toward Mountain View. Take Highway 237 exit and drive East to the Mathilda Avenue exit. There are three lanes that turn left. Using the lane which is furthest to the right, turn LEFT onto Mathilda, drive under the overpass and make an IMMEDIATE RIGHT turn onto Moffet Park Drive. Take the FIRST LEFT onto Bordeaux Drive.
 
From Highway 237 East
Take the Mathilda Avenue exit and make the FIRST RIGHT turn onto Moffet Park Drive. Take the FIRST LEFT onto Bordeaux Drive.
 
From Highway 237 West
Take the Mathilda Avenue exit and make the FIRST LEFT turn onto Matilda Avenue. Go under HWY 237 and make the FIRST RIGHT onto Moffet Park Drive. Take the FIRST LEFT onto Bordeaux Drive.
 
The Cogswell entrance is the 3rd driveway on the left and is marked with a silver sign. The lobby entrance is toward the rear of the parking lot, near the arbor.

Public Transportation:

Cogswell is within two blocks of the VTA light rail and several bus lines.
